What to know
Enrollment through American Express is required.
An enrolled U.S. Consumer Platinum Card account can receive up to $75 in statement credits each quarter, up to $300 per calendar year.
Eligible purchases must be made directly with participating U.S. lululemon channels; several locations and transaction types are excluded.
Treat the credit as a discount on a planned purchase, not a reason to buy something unnecessary.
How the benefit works
American Express divides the advertised annual amount into four quarterly limits. The month ranges below use standard calendar quarters; confirm the active benefit period in the current Benefits dashboard.
Benefit period | Maximum statement credit |
|---|---|
January–March | Up to $75 |
April–June | Up to $75 |
July–September | Up to $75 |
October–December | Up to $75 |
Calendar-year maximum | Up to $300 |
The terms cap each quarter at $75 and do not provide a rollover mechanism. Do not assume an unused amount will increase a later quarter’s limit.
The limit is per Card Account, not per physical card. Purchases by the enrolled Basic Card Member and Additional Card Members can qualify, but all eligible cards share the same quarterly and annual maximum.
Enroll before relying on the credit
Only the Basic Card Member or an Authorized Account Manager can enroll the eligible U.S. Consumer Platinum Card account. Sign in to the American Express website or app, open the Card’s Benefits section, find the lululemon credit, and complete enrollment.
Confirm that the benefit shows as enrolled before making a purchase you expect to qualify. If a card number has been replaced, update the card stored with lululemon and check that enrollment remains active.
Know what is eligible
American Express’s current terms identify eligible purchases made directly with lululemon through:

lululemon retail stores in the United States, excluding outlets; the U.S. website at shop.lululemon.com; and the lululemon app.
The terms exclude lululemon Studio, Like New, outlets, warehouses, event locations, showrooms, wholesale transactions, purchases shipped outside the United States, and gift-card purchases.
That list is more specific than “anything from lululemon.” Check the current benefit terms before every planned use because participating channels and exclusions can change.
Use a simple quarterly routine
At the start of the quarter

Check enrollment and decide whether you already expect to need an eligible item during the quarter. If the answer is no, the credit may have no practical value to you for that period.
Before the purchase
Confirm that the seller and purchase method are eligible. Pay directly with an eligible Platinum Card on the enrolled Card Account. Avoid a gift card or excluded location as a workaround; the published terms expressly exclude them.
After the purchase posts
Save the receipt and monitor the Card account. American Express says to allow up to eight weeks after an eligible purchase is charged for the statement credit to post.
The merchant’s processing date can matter near the end of a benefit period. A last-day purchase may be submitted later and identified in the next period. Leave time for the charge to be processed rather than depending on a quarter-end transaction.
At quarter end
Verify the amount of credit received across the entire Card Account, including purchases made by Additional Card Members. Do not assume a remaining amount will carry forward.
Avoid the most common ways to waste it
Buying only because the quarter is ending
A $75 statement credit does not create $75 of value if it causes you to make an unplanned $100 purchase. The useful value is what the credit saves on something you would otherwise buy.
Treating the annual headline as one pool
The benefit is not one $300 purchase credit. Each quarter has its own maximum, so a person who shops once late in the year may use only one quarter’s amount.
Using an excluded channel
Outlet, Like New, gift-card, and other excluded purchases do not become eligible because they carry the lululemon name. Use the current American Express terms, not a social-media workaround.
Forgetting that the cap is shared
Additional Card purchases can qualify, but they do not create additional $75 quarterly credits. Coordinate within the Card Account.
Counting a credit before it posts
Statement credits can take time, and returns, refunds, cancellations, or modifications can affect eligibility or reverse a credit. Keep the receipt and wait for the account activity to settle before including the benefit in an annual-value calculation.
Decide what the credit is worth to you
Use three values:
Face value available: up to $75 for the quarter.
Planned eligible spending: the amount you would have spent without the credit.
Credit actually received: the statement credit that posts after the eligible charge.
If planned eligible spending is $40, the quarter’s useful value is at most $40—not $75. If planned eligible spending is zero, do not count the quarter at face value when deciding whether the Card’s annual fee makes sense for you.
Evaluate the Platinum Card as a whole using benefits you will actually use, current fees, and your normal spending. One merchant credit does not make the Card universally worthwhile.
If the credit does not appear
Confirm that:
enrollment was complete before the purchase;
the charge was made directly through an eligible U.S. lululemon channel;
the purchase was not a gift card or another excluded transaction;
the correct eligible Card was charged;
the Card Account was open and not past due when the credit was fulfilled; and
enough time has passed under the published terms.
If the purchase appears eligible and no credit posts after the stated period, contact American Express using the number on the back of the Card. Keep the receipt, transaction date, amount, and seller information available.
Before you act
Review the current American Express benefit terms in your account before purchasing. Benefit amounts, eligible Card Accounts, participating channels, exclusions, and posting times can change.
