StaxxRewards is free for readers. It is published by Staxx Media, Inc.

StaxxRewards may receive compensation when a visitor uses certain product links or completes a qualifying action. The exact qualifying action depends on the commercial agreement connected with that link.

Compensation does not change what a visitor pays the issuer. It may affect which offers are available to StaxxRewards and where an offer appears. Not every link is compensated, and StaxxRewards does not compare every credit card or offer in the market.

What compensation can affect

Commercial relationships may affect:

whether a tracked product link is available;
which version of an offer is available through StaxxRewards;
where a compensated offer appears on a page; or
whether an outbound action can be attributed to StaxxRewards.

Any effect on availability or placement should be disclosed. A compensated relationship is not proof that a product is better.

What compensation does not decide

Compensation should not:

change the reward math;
make a stale or inactive product eligible;
remove annual fees, caps or restrictions from an estimate;
turn an estimate into a guarantee;
determine whether an issuer approves an application;
replace current official sources and review dates; or
prevent StaxxRewards from correcting an error.

The same sourcing, methodology, disclosure and correction standards apply to compensated and uncompensated products.

How recommendations are reviewed

The current experience looks at the visitor’s rewards goal, preferred level of effort and spending across six categories. Affiliate compensation is not part of that value calculation.

A compensated link should become public only after the product, current terms, commercial relationship, destination and required disclosure have been reviewed.

Offers, applications and credit

Offer terms can change. The issuer controls availability, eligibility, approval, pricing, credit limits, rewards and account terms.

Taking the StaxxRewards quiz does not request a credit report. Applying for a credit card commonly allows the issuer to make a hard inquiry, which may affect a credit score.

Always review the issuer’s current terms before applying. Do not apply for a card to earn rewards if carrying the balance would create interest that outweighs those rewards.

Not every link is paid
